On August 14, 2024, St. Claret School organized a vibrant and engaging rally at the Chimur Thahasil in honor of Independence Day and in remembrance of the Chimur Kranti. The event began with the school's traditional morning assembly, setting the tone for a day dedicated to patriotism and cultural appreciation.
Students from the 9th and 10th grades, guided by Principal Rev. Fr. Robin Paul and accompanied by their teachers, took part in the rally with great enthusiasm. The procession was a colorful celebration of national pride, featuring students dressed as iconic figures from India's history, including Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Jawaharlal Nehru, Jhansi Rani, and Bhagat Singh. Many others wore traditional Indian attire, enriching the event with cultural diversity.
The rally provided a meaningful opportunity for the community to reflect on the values of freedom and patriotism. It served as a poignant reminder of the Chimur Kranti's role as a starting point for the Quit India Movement, emphasizing the importance of recognizing and celebrating our nation’s rich cultural heritage.
The event concluded with inspiring speeches from officials of the Thahasil of Chimur, as well as from students and teachers who highlighted the significance of Independence Day and the core values of our nation. Fr. Robin Paul, Principal of St. Claret School, expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed to making the event both memorable and impactful.
