The Annual Day celebrations of St. Claret English Medium School, Chimur, Milan 2k24, held on December 13, 2024, were a resounding success, leaving behind unforgettable memories of joy, achievement, and togetherness. The evening kicked off with a warm welcome extended to the distinguished guests, followed by a beautiful prayer dance that set a serene and inspiring tone for the event.
The occasion unfolded with heartfelt speeches, vibrant performances, and special honors. Rev. Fr. Siby Mathew CMF, Provincial Superior of St. Thomas Province, presided over the function, with Very Rev. Fr. Dinesh Mate, Director of the Board of Education, Diocese of Chanda, serving as the Chief Guest. Other notable attendees included Ms. Archana Wangari, C.O. Nagar Parishad, Chimur, and Kumari Avani Selotte, the representative of the 2016-17 alumni batch. The presence of former principals further enriched the event, as their interactions with alumni left a lasting impression and contributed to the spirit of Milan.
A major highlight of the evening was the recognition of the toppers of the 2023-24 academic year. The school topper, Kumari Isha V. Waghmare, who achieved an impressive 97%, was honored with the Tejal Lakhe Memorial Cash Award. Other outstanding achievers, including Rajat G. Balduwa, Rashi S. Deotale, and Shailiesha V. Dhaunkar, were also felicitated for their remarkable academic accomplishments.
A touching moment came when the second batch of alumni, particularly Kumari Avani Selotte, shared nostalgic memories of their journey at St. Claret. Students from nursery to 10th grade showcased a spectacular variety of performances, including traditional dances, creative dances, cultural songs, martial arts, yoga, and folk songs, all highlighting the rich and diverse cultural heritage of India.
